Make your own wedding rings together in Soremi’s Horsforth studio, just outside Leeds.

This private full-day wedding ring making workshop for two is a chance to slow down, learn a centuries-old craft and create the rings you’ll wear every day. Guided by Ghazal, a professional goldsmith and jeweller with over 20 years of experience, you’ll make two completely personal wedding bands using traditional tools and techniques.

You’ll measure, saw, solder, file, shape, texture and finish your rings yourselves, with Ghazal demonstrating every stage and working alongside you throughout the day. No previous jewellery-making experience is needed.

Your workshop includes private tuition, use of professional tools, refreshments, a light lunch and a celebratory glass of fizz once your rings are complete.

Before the workshop, we’ll arrange a phone or FaceTime consultation to discuss your designs, ring sizes, chosen metals, finishes, personalisation and material costs. Your ring materials are quoted and charged separately, so everything can be prepared before you arrive.

Once you have booked, Ghazal will contact you to arrange a suitable workshop date. If you have a particular date or timescale in mind, leave a note when booking or get in touch before placing your order.

    What to Expect

Your day begins with a warm welcome, tea or coffee, and a relaxed introduction to the materials and tools you’ll be using.

Ghazal will demonstrate each process before you try it for yourselves, guiding you through measuring, sawing, soldering, filing, shaping, texturing and polishing your wedding rings.

There will be plenty of hands-on support throughout the day, along with time for lunch and a celebratory glass of fizz once your rings are complete.

Depending on your chosen metal and finishing options, you may take your rings home that day, or they may stay with us for hallmarking, engraving, gemstone setting or any further work agreed beforehand.

    Before The Workshop

Before your workshop, we’ll arrange a short consultation by phone or FaceTime to discuss your ideas and confirm your ring sizes, profiles, finishes and chosen metals.

Once your designs are agreed, Ghazal will provide a separate quote for your ring materials. Precious metal costs fluctuate, so your final quote will depend on the metal, ring sizes, widths and profiles you choose.

You can also discuss hand-stamping, engraving, hallmarking, diamonds, gemstones and any special finishes you would like to add. Additional work will be quoted separately and arranged in advance.

This means everything will be ready for you when you arrive and you can spend the day enjoying making your rings together.

Have a question? The answers below cover the things couples ask most before booking. You can also contact Ghazal directly if there is anything else you would like to know.

Can we make our own wedding rings in Leeds?

Yes. Soremi’s wedding ring making workshop takes place in Ghazal’s studio in Horsforth, Leeds, just a short journey from the city centre. You’ll spend the day making your own wedding rings together, with Ghazal guiding you through every stage. The full studio address and arrival details are sent after booking.

Do we need jewellery making experience?

No, not at all. The workshop is designed for complete beginners. Ghazal will demonstrate each stage before you try it yourselves, including measuring, sawing, soldering, filing, shaping, hand-stamping and finishing your rings.

What is included in the wedding ring making workshop?

The workshop fee is for two people and includes private tuition, use of professional tools, refreshments, a light lunch and a celebratory glass of fizz at the end of the day. Ring materials are not included and will be quoted separately before the workshop.

How much will our wedding ring materials cost?

Material costs vary depending on your chosen metal, ring sizes, widths and profiles. Precious metal prices also fluctuate, so we’ll discuss your ideas and provide a detailed quote before ordering anything. You are welcome to contact Ghazal for an initial estimate before booking.

Can we make our wedding rings in silver, gold or platinum?

Yes. You can choose sterling silver, 9ct or 18ct gold in yellow, white or rose gold, or platinum. All ring materials are quoted separately because the final cost depends on your chosen metal, ring sizes, widths and profiles. Ghazal will also explain the making and finishing process for your selected metal during your consultation.

Can we add hidden names, dates or messages inside our wedding rings?

Yes. You can add hand-stamped words, names or dates to make your rings even more personal. Engraving can also be arranged in advance and quoted separately. It is a subtle way to keep something private inside the rings without changing how they look from the outside.

How do we choose our workshop date?

Once you have booked, Ghazal will contact you to arrange a suitable date and begin discussing your ring ideas. If you have a specific date or timescale in mind, leave a note when booking or contact Soremi before placing your order.

What happens if we need to rearrange?

Please get in touch as soon as possible. Workshop dates can usually be rearranged with at least 24 hours’ notice in cases of illness or unexpected circumstances. Full refunds are available only when the workshop is cancelled at least seven days before the booked date.
