What is Soremi jewellery made from?

With quality at the heart of every Soremi piece, your jewellery will be crafted using solid 925 sterling silver and solid gold.

Where a piece is gold plated rather than solid gold, this is always clearly stated in the product description and reflected in the price. We do not use plated base metals in any of our jewellery.

Is your jewellery nickel free?

Yes, all Soremi jewellery is nickel-free.

Where is Soremi based?

Soremi is based in Horsforth, Leeds, where all jewellery is designed and handmade by Ghazal in her studio (also known as the shedio).

This is also where our jewellery workshops in Leeds take place, including stacking ring workshops, bangle making workshops, and make your own wedding ring workshops. If you’re looking for a hands-on jewellery workshop in Horsforth or Leeds, you’ll be making alongside Ghazal in the very space where Soremi pieces come to life.

Everything happens here - from one-off commissions to full-day workshop experiences all made by hand, with years of experiences.

Ordering & Delivery

Ordering tips

We are proud to be a small company with absolute heart. We strive to ensure that we make the purchasing process super easy but also informed with clear images and dimensions. Please always make sure you read through these. We have all made ‘that’ purchase where we overlook the most important details, it's so frustrating, we totally get it BUT as a small company we believe it's not fair to be expected to cover the cost for those oversights by way of refunds. Made to order, personalised and bespoke means it really is made just for you.

Do you ever have promo codes?

Very, very rarely. If we have a promo code available we send this out via our newsletter and  social media channels, so make sure you’re following & signed up. You will receive 10% off your order when you sign up to our newsletter here and find us on Instagram here and Facebook here.

Can I amend an order?

Noticed a problem with your order details or personalisation before despatch? Please contact us as soon as possible so we can see if we can amend this for you. We will not be able to change an order once it has been made.

Jewellery Care

How do I keep my jewellery looking good as new?

All Soremi jewellery is made from solid 925 sterling silver or solid gold, designed to be worn and loved. Like anything you wear regularly, a little care goes a long way.

Removing your jewellery before swimming, showering or applying perfume and lotions will help keep it looking its best. A quick polish now and then will restore shine, and proper storage (ideally polish it then store in a small ziplock bag) when you’re not wearing it will slow down natural tarnishing.

Jewellery is meant to live with you - wear it, enjoy it, and give it a little TLC when it needs it.

Check out our care guide for all of our expert tips & tricks.

Will my silver tarnish?

Sterling silver can naturally tarnish or oxidise over time. This is a normal and unavoidable characteristic of silver and is not influenced by the making process.

Your jewellery may tarnish when it comes into contact with certain substances, including (but not limited to):

  • Chlorine (such as swimming pools or hot tubs)
  • Perfume, body lotions and self-tan
  • Sweat and sun cream, particularly in warmer months

In some cases, an individual’s natural skin pH can also accelerate the tarnishing process. While this can be frustrating, it is completely normal and varies from person to person.

The good news is that tarnish is very easy to remove. A silver polishing cloth (available to purchase from us) or products such as Silvo, which can be found in most large supermarkets, will bring your jewellery back up beautifully.

We also offer a polishing service should you ever want your piece refreshed professionally.

Important Note

Because tarnishing is a natural characteristic of sterling silver, it does not constitute a fault.

To help reduce tarnish when your jewellery is not being worn, we recommend storing it in a small plastic bag inside a jewellery box and avoiding exposure to moisture.

That said - you can also wear your jewellery with abandon, enjoy it fully, and simply polish it back up when needed.

What polishing cloth should I use?

A soft silver polishing cloth is perfect for keeping your jewellery bright and shiny. We have polishing cloths available on our website that are suitable for all Soremi pieces.

You can also use products such as Silvo, which are widely available in supermarkets, to remove tarnish and restore shine. Used gently, these will bring your jewellery right back to life.

Can I wear my Soremi jewellery daily?

Yes, yes, yes! Your jewellery is made to be worn to your heart's content. In fact, regular wear can sometimes help keep silver brighter.

That said, we recommend removing your jewellery before swimming, showering or applying lotions and perfumes, as these can accelerate tarnishing. If you prefer to wear it with abandon (we don't recommend this with plated pieces!), simply polish it when needed - both approaches are absolutely fine.

How should I store my jewellery?

When you’re not wearing your jewellery, we recommend storing it in a small plastic ziplock bag inside a jewellery box. This limits exposure to air and moisture and helps slow the tarnishing process.

If you wear a piece frequently, you may find it needs less storage care - silver and gold like to be worn.

What should I avoid my jewellery coming into contact with?

There are lots of way to avoid your jewellery tarnishing:

• Don’t swim with your jewellery on and defo keep it out of the sauna and hot tub!

• Chlorine is silvers' arch enemy. Be warned. Also try to avoid hot springs and sea water.

• Perfume and lotions are also a culprit for tarnish.

• Avoid wearing if you're planning to excessively sweat and wait 'til your sun cream dries before putting on your jewellery.

Personally, I want to wear my jewellery with abandon so I do all of the above but always have my polishing cloth to hand for some TLC.

Can I have my jewellery repaired or reconditioned?

If your jewellery needs a repair within 12-months due to a fault (this rarely happens but it will usually become clear within the first few months) please refrain from wearing it and contact us with a photo and a description of the fault so we can see how we can help. If, after 12-months your jewellery needs a repair please contact us with a photo and we will give you a quote for the price.

Returns

Can I return my order?

We work really hard to ensure that you love your piece of Soremi Jewellery.  Before leaving our workshops it goes through a thorough quality control protocol to ensure what you receive is made to the highest standards.

Personalised items of jewellery and made to order and bespoke pieces cannot be returned unless faulty. In the unlikely event that there is a fault we will always give you a 100% refund with no questions asked (not to mention our most humble apologies). Please note however that everything is hand made and therefore there will be nuances, these nuances do not constitute faults, similarly tarnishing, a natural process that occurs with silver does not constitute a fault.

Due to hygiene, we are unable to offer refunds on earrings.

It is important that before submitting an order all personalisations requests are double checked to ensure that no spelling errors or date errors have been made.
